Q. As a Doctor & Administrator what are the services that you provide, what is the Health issue you solve & what can your patients expect from your services?
Ans. As an administrator I am fascinated by the vision of our founder members “Innovative “Integrative” healthcare for homes, communities and institutions.”
At IAIM Healthcare we work to demonstrate 21st century models for safe, effective, affordable and replicable healthcare services, aimed at wellness, prevention and disease management, through well-researched applications of Traditional Health Sciences judiciously integrated with modern sciences and disseminated through high quality education.
As a doctor I am working on integrative oral healthcare model. I would like to integrate our dental surgeries with Ayurveda medicines and treatments.
Q. Do you feel that a particular branch of healthcare is unable to meet the growing challenges in public health? Do you see a role for Holistic Healthcare in India today? What is it?
Ans. The IAIM founders have always felt that all the medicinal systems have their own strengths and limitations. Integrating strengths of all these systems is the future of healthcare. We offer more than holistic, we are integrative.
Q. Do you feel there is a need to focus on Preventive health? What are the possible ways to do so?
Ans. Ayurveda has always stressed on maintaining health and not only treat the disease when it appears. The Ayurveda yearly detox programs are like servicing our vehicles so that they don’t breakdown. Human body also needs overhauling once a year. The yearly detox helps us remain healthy throughout the year and reduce our medical expenditure to a great extent. Apart from that Prakriti analysis, Dinacharya and ritucharya regimens also help preventing the diseases.
Q. Is Holistic health & Preventive health something that Doctors & healthcare industry paying enough attention to? What do you feel is the perception & understanding of the public towards holistic approach?
Ans. The entire global medical fraternity and health care industry have woken up to precision medicine and prevention. There is a lot attention being paid to planning customized and holistic health care protocols for patients.
People in India have always known holistic approach through Ayurveda. They accept it readily as they have seen Ayurveda medicines being given to them from their childhood, by their mothers and grandmothers.
Q. What kind of facility do you provide towards Holistic healthcare & what kind of approach / resources would you like to see for your patients in the future?
Ans. We Integrate Ayurveda with Yoga, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and Allopathy. We combine traditional knowledge with modern diagnostics. We integrate pre-surgical and post-surgical care with Ayurveda and integrate it with surgical and gynaecological management of Allopathy. We help rehabilitation and rejuvenation through Ayurveda after Chemotherapies, Neuro surgeries etc.
Q. How do you feel about various branches of Healthcare in India and about alternative therapies prevalent?
Ans. As I have mentioned it before, there are number of healthcare systems not only in India but also globally. People have started to acknowledge alternative therapies. I will stress on it again that integration of these systems can be an answer for patient centric protocols.
Q. What has been your experience with other branches of Healthcare & alternative therapies?
Ans. I have just started working with Ayurveda experts and my experience till now has been very positive.
Q. In your opinion, what do you feel are the myths and misunderstandings about Holistic healthcare & various non-allopathic modalities?
Ans. We lack substantial evidence on the holistic healthcare. In absence of that, myths and misunderstandings crop up. It is crucial to come together in the era of evidence based medicine and generate evidence through systematic research.
