Ans. In today’s complex lifestyle, there is ABSOLUTE NEED to focus on preventive healthcare. We are aging much faster because of growing toxins, pesticides, polluted air, contaminated water, viruses etc. Ailments like cancer are detected in much larger population at very early age. Our life expectancy may be increasing but NOT LONGETIVITY.
Possibly, we have to adapt a simpler food and lifestyle as our ancestors did and heal ourselves by following natural treatments.
Q. Is Holistic health & Preventive health something that Doctors & healthcare industry paying enough attention to? What do you feel is the perception & understanding of the public towards holistic approach?
Ans. Holistic health and preventive health is always treated as a back bencher in India. I believe that we are not doing enough to bring it to public’s attention. We have to educate people / groups / schools / corporates / households so they understand their body and take necessary actions much before the breakdown.Doctors and healthcare industry are more focused on
Doctors and healthcare industry are more focused on curative part of industry. Partly it is because people think they have to rush to hospitals ONLY when they are in pain.
